WHO WE ARE

Afghan Alfouz Innovational Welfare Organization (AAIWO) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization established in 2018 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan (License #4465). Guided by the values of Hope – Relief – Help, we work to empower Afghan communities—especially women, children, and vulnerable groups—through health, education, social services, agriculture, and emergency response. Since our establishment, we have partnered with leading organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, WHO, and other UN agencies to implement large-scale projects that reach millions of people across Afghanistan. Our programs focus on improving access to healthcare, expanding educational opportunities, strengthening community resilience, and supporting sustainable livelihoods. At AAIWO, we believe in inclusivity, participation, and community-driven development—working hand in hand with people to build a brighter, self-reliant future.

What we have done

Since its establishment in 2018, AAIWO has successfully implemented a wide range of humanitarian and development projects across Afghanistan. Some of these projects include:

Provision of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Services in Farah, Kandahar and Nengrahar

In consortium with JACK, this World Bank (ARTF) and UNICEF-funded project delivers essential healthcare in Farah, Kandahar and Nangarhar, reaching over three million people under the Health Emergency Response (HER) initiative.

Enterprise Development Support for Koochies (Nomadic Communities) in Nangarhar, Parwan, and Bamyan

This World Bank-funded project (2018–2019) piloted business development concepts for nomadic communities (Koochies), aiming to create sustainable livelihoods and integrate them into local economies.

Socio-Economic Reintegration of Returnees, IDPs, and Vulnerable Afghan Women in Ghor Province

This Canada-funded project (completed 2021) supported vulnerable groups in Ghor—returnees, IDPs, and women—by providing means for economic and social reintegration.

Home Garden Production and Small Backyard Poultry Initiatives for Women in Ghor Province

Funded by the US Embassy and Lithuanian partners (2018–2020), this project empowered women in Ghor through agricultural training, creating home gardens and small poultry farms to boost nutrition and income.

Kitchen Garden, Family Poultry, and Tree Planting Pilot Project in Dehsabz, Kabul

This JICA-funded pilot (2019–2020) promoted family-based agriculture in 24 peri-urban villages through kitchen gardens, poultry, and tree planting to boost food security and sustainability.
